About
An independent, community-built dashboard for Claude.
Last updated: April 2026
Why this site exists
When Claude is slow, returning 529 Overloaded errors,
or just behaving oddly in one region but not another, the question every engineer asks is the same: is it just me?
The official status.claude.com page
answers part of that question, but it is intentionally conservative — it reflects what Anthropic has confirmed and posted, not what users
are seeing in real time across countries, regions, and surfaces (claude.ai vs. the API vs. Claude Code).
Claude Status fills the gap between "officially confirmed incident" and "something is wrong right now." It pulls the same public
Statuspage feed Anthropic publishes, layers on community-submitted reports, runs continuous latency probes from 17 countries against
claude.ai, and presents everything on a single
page that can be left open in a tab. It is built for the moment when something feels off and you want signal in seconds, not
a five-minute investigation across three browser tabs.
What we monitor
- 5 official components — claude.ai (web), platform.claude.com (developer console), Claude API (api.anthropic.com), Claude Code (CLI), and Claude for Government — pulled live from the public Atlassian Statuspage API.
- Active & resolved incidents with full update history, impact level (none / minor / major / critical), and component attribution.
- 30-day uptime per component, calculated from the same incident feed using merged-interval downtime math (see Methodology).
- Global latency from 17 countries, measured against
claude.aievery 5 minutes via check-host.net probes, with up to 3 redundant nodes per country. - Community reports — anonymous, rate-limited, 3-day rolling window, with hourly trend charts so you can tell a real outage spike from background noise.
- An RSS feed of the last 30 incidents, plus optional email subscriptions for major-impact events.
Who runs it
Claude Status is operated by a single independent engineer who builds with Claude every day and got tired of refreshing five tabs during outages. There is no company behind the site, no investors, and no commercial relationship with Anthropic. The site is funded out of pocket and (eventually) by display advertising — see the Disclosure page for the full ad and affiliate policy.
Maintainer correspondence goes through [email protected]. We do not have a marketing team, a press desk, or a support tier — every email is read by the person who writes the code.
Editorial principles
We try to be useful, honest, and boring — in that order.
- Independent. Anthropic does not review, fund, sponsor, or pre-approve anything published here. They have not asked us to take anything down, and we would not promise in advance to comply if they did.
- Public-source first. Every status claim links back to the upstream public source — the Atlassian Statuspage incident, the check-host.net probe, or the timestamped community report. Nothing on this dashboard is a private channel that you cannot independently verify.
- Calibrated. We do not call something an "outage" if Anthropic has classified it as
minor. Our uptime numbers will sometimes be lower than the marketing-friendly figures Anthropic might quote, because we count partial outages and degraded performance against the percentage. The math is documented openly on Methodology. - Quiet during incidents. When the dashboard goes red, the maintainer is not also live-tweeting it. We try to keep the data clean, the page fast, and the commentary minimal — there is enough noise on incident days already.
- Corrections in public. If we get something wrong — a misattributed incident, a stale uptime calculation, a flag for the wrong country — we fix it on the page and add a note. Email [email protected] with what you saw and we will look at it.
What this site is not
It is not an official channel. It is not a substitute for Anthropic support — if you have a billing problem, an account problem, or a security disclosure, contact Anthropic directly. It is not a real-time alerting platform with SLAs; the email subscription is best-effort and routes through Resend, with no delivery guarantee. It is not a forum, a chat room, or a place to post prompts and get help with them.
It is one page that tries to honestly answer the question "is Claude having a bad day right now," using public data, presented without spin.
Trademarks
"Claude," "Anthropic," and related marks are the property of Anthropic, PBC. Use of those names on this site is descriptive and nominative, to identify the service being monitored. Claude Status is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic in any way.
