1. Overview
Claude Status (claudestatus.com) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights under GDPR (EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), and similar privacy laws.
2. Data We Collect
Email Subscriptions
When you subscribe to updates, your email address is stored by Resend, our third-party email service provider. We do not store your email on our own servers.
Community Reports
When you submit a report, we store the category (outage/latency), your description text (max 80 characters), and the submission timestamp. Reports do not contain personally identifiable information and are automatically deleted after 3 days.
IP Addresses
IP addresses are used solely for rate limiting to prevent abuse. They are stored temporarily (60 seconds for report/latency limits) and are not logged, tracked, or associated with any other data.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- No personal accounts, logins, or user profiles
- No email open or click tracking on outbound notifications
- No browsing history beyond standard analytics page views
- No data sold to third parties under any circumstance
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (page views, visitor count, general geography). Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. You can opt out site-wide via Google's opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings.
5. Advertising & AdSense Cookies
Claude Status displays advertising via Google AdSense. As part of serving ads, Google and its certified third-party vendors use cookies and similar technologies (including the DoubleClick / __gads / __gpi cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites on the internet. These cookies are used for ad personalization, frequency capping, and conversion measurement.
Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are presented with a Google-managed consent choice (CMP) before any non-essential cookies are written. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Google Ad Settings: google.com/settings/ads
- Third-party vendor opt-out (Digital Advertising Alliance): aboutads.info
- EU users (EDAA): youronlinechoices.eu
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
We do not pre-screen specific advertisers and have no direct relationship with any company whose ad you may see. Our full advertising and editorial-independence policy lives on the Disclosure page.
