Claude may be disrupted — Cowork is likely affected

Anthropic has an active incident. Cowork sits on top of the same Claude backend, so expect it to be affected.

How this page tracks Cowork

Claude Cowork is one of Claude's newer surfaces — an agentic "coworker" that runs tasks in a sandbox. Anthropic's public status page does not yet expose Cowork as its own component, so there is no official "Cowork is up/down" signal. This page infers Cowork's health from two things it can see: the overall Claude platform status (Cowork runs on the same backend) and live community outage reports. When Anthropic adds a dedicated Cowork component, we will wire it in directly.

Common Cowork problems — and what to do

Cowork sandbox won't start or errors out

What it means

The sandbox environment depends on Anthropic's backend. When the broader Claude platform is degraded, sandbox spin-up and tool calls fail first.

What to do

Check the live signal above. If it is red/amber, wait it out. If green, retry the task in a fresh session — a single stuck sandbox usually clears on restart.

Tasks hang, stall, or never finish

What it means

Either backend capacity (the same 529 / overload that hits the rest of Claude) or a single oversized step in the agent loop.

What to do

If the status above is green, break the task into smaller steps or restart it. During a real incident, even retries stall for a few minutes.

Is it Cowork or my account?

What it means

Auth/session expiry, plan limits, or permission scope can look like an outage but are local to your account.

What to do

Re-authenticate and confirm your plan has Cowork access. If many users are reporting outages in the feed, it is more likely platform-wide.

Claude Cowork status — FAQ

Is Claude Cowork down right now? expand_more

Anthropic does not publish a separate status component for Cowork, so read the banner above: it infers Cowork's health from the overall Claude platform status plus live community reports. Red means a confirmed Claude incident (Cowork almost certainly affected); amber means users are reporting problems; green means no widespread outage.

Why is there no official Cowork status page? expand_more

Anthropic's public Statuspage breaks out claude.ai, the API, Claude Code, and a few others — but not Cowork as its own component yet. Because Cowork runs on the same backend, the overall Claude status and the community reports on this page are the best available signal until Anthropic adds a dedicated component.

My Cowork sandbox failed — is that an outage? expand_more

Not necessarily. If the banner above is green, a failed sandbox is most often a stuck session or an oversized task step — restart in a fresh session. If the banner is red or amber, the sandbox failure is part of a broader incident and waiting is the fix.

How do I report a Cowork outage? expand_more

Use the 'Report an Issue' button on this page and pick 'Outage'. Reports are anonymous and feed the live community signal that drives the amber state above, which helps everyone else checking whether Cowork is down.
